Instagram users before had to either get screenshot or search manually if they want to go over a specific post again. Not anymore. The social media platform has just introduced a new feature that will let users save posts for later viewing, by adding a bookmark button on the application.

According to Tech Crunch, Instagram said in an announcement that the new bookmarking feature will be of great help to users if they want to save posts they want to remember, save an outfit they saw on their feed, or any post that they want to keep or show to other people.

Users will be able to save posts on their Instagram account by tapping the bookmark button which should appear below the post they want to save, and view them privately by tapping the bookmark button from their profile.

Before the new feature was launched, users would have to like a certain post and go to their profile's Liked Photos section in order to go back to posts they wanted to view again. The Verge describes the new Instagram bookmarking feature as a new version of Liked Photos.

The Facebook- owned social media platform also seemed to have copied the feature from it, since Facebook users have long been able to save posts and videos they see on their timeline. The said Instagram bookmarking tool, according to TIME, will not notify users if you have saved their posts.

Instagram has been making major tweaks in the social media application recently in order to keep up with its competition with other applications like Snapchat. Last month, the platform has introduced a new feature that lets users send self-destructing photos and videos to their followers. Instagram also gave its users the capability to turn off comments on their posts, and remove followers from their private accounts last week.

The new update has rolled out on Wednesday for iOS and Android users, and will soon be available for Windows 10 devices.
