'The Walking Dead' Season 7 "Hearts Still Beating" - Shocking Hidden Clues Fans Missed From The Mid-Season Finale
The Walking Dead's seventh mid-season finale has come and gone, but the fans are still reeling from the excitement it brought. The episode presented exciting reunions, unexpected deaths, and hidden clues.
These said exciting reunions and unexpected deaths seems to overshadow the hidden clues meant for the fans to find. Thankfully, the show is on a quick hiatus, giving fans more time to uncover these gems hidden by the showrunners.
In the beginning of the episode, fans can see Maggie standing over the graves of both Glenn and Abraham. Apparently, this has become her daily ritual, paying her respect to her deceased loved ones.
In this scene, fans can also see Glenn's widow wearing a cap and gloves, which is a nod to both the late "Walker-bait" and the fallen soldier. A few moments forward, Maggie shares a scene with Gregory. This particular moment shows the transition of power from Gregory to Maggie, albeit unbeknownst by both characters.
A popular theory online also states that Robert Kirkman made a quick cameo on the show as one of the water walkers during Aaron and Rick's scene. However, it was confirmed recently that that walker wasn't Kirkman.
Richard's weapon of choice - or "would be" weapon of choice will be one of those water bottles he was holding when he showed up at Carol's front steps. Yep, fans saw Sir Richard holding those water bottles not once, but twice within the episode. Some theories online suggest that this could signify a molotov cocktail which they can use during The Walking Dead's All Out War.
More fans online are also speculating on what Daryl saw when he was hiding in Dwight's room during his escape from the Sanctuary. Daryl was actually looking at a mini figurine of a soldier - another nod to Sgt. Abraham Ford.
This only fueled Daryl's hatred towards Dwight and the Saviors. As a result, Daryl brutally murdered Fat Joey and got Rick's Colt Python back.
The title of the episode "Hearts Still Beating" also has some significance on the show. Aaron repeatedly mentioned this to Rick when they were out on that supply run. He also mentioned this to Rick one more time after getting beat down by several of Negan's men.
Speaking of Rick getting his Colt Python back, this actually symbolizes his rise to power once more. Rick has gotten a lot back this episode: his guts, his motivation, his gun and his family.
