Patriots Patrick Chung will Stay in New England, Signs 3-Year Extension
Starting safety Patrick Chung will remain a Patriot for the next three seasons. ESPN's Field Yates reported that the 27-year-old has signed a three-year extension with the New England Patriots worth up to $8.2 million. The contract includes a $3.4 million guarantee.
He is due base salaries of $1 million in 2015, $1.4 million in 2016 and $1.8 million in 2017. Chung can earn bonuses worth up to $200,000 in each season. In 2016 and 2017, Chung can earn an additional $500,000 in incentives. His signing bonus was worth $2.4 million.
ESPN's Mike Reiss noted that Chung's return to the Patriots was low-risk. He tweeted, "Patrick Chung's bounce-back season w/ Patriots notable in '14. Signed low-risk 1-year deal from team's side. Became starter, 77.6% playtime."
In this season, Chung has totaled 85 tackles, with 54 of them being solo ones. He also recorded seven passes defended and has one interception.
Chung was a second-round pick in the 2009 NFL Draft. In 2013, Chung signed with the Philadelphia Eagles, who released him in March 2014. The Oregon alum then resigned with the Patriots.

In this season, Bolden has totaled 28 carries for 89 yards with one touchdown. The 24-year-old made the team in 2012 as an undrafted free agent.
