‘Young And The Restless’ Spoilers: Kinder Victor In 2017 Teased! Adam, Victoria & Nick Still Won’t Forgive Him?

Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) has been using tough love on his children for so long on "The Young and the Restless." Viewers are accustomed to him showing his love and care through restrictions, but recent episodes hinted that he would change himself soon.

According to Soap Opera Spy, there's a huge possibility that "The Young and the Restless" would showcase "a kinder, gentler" Victor in 2017. In a recent episode, Nick (Joshua Morrow) asked Victor and Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) to babysit their grandson Christian because he had to manage the Underground. Nick is currently struggling with his single parent status.

Victor told Nick to let Noah (Robert Adamson) handle the Underground Bar and come back at Newman Enterprises instead. The Newman patriarch even told his son that the company has childcare in its premises so taking care of little Christian won't be an issue.

Victor said that he's willing to give the reins of Newman Enterprises to Nick if he returns and manages the company. Nick, however, refused his father's offer.

Victor then realizes that his children have their own lives now and his tough love parenting approach over the years pushed them apart. This will encourage Victor to shed his steely persona and apologize to his children before it's too late.

"The Young and the Restless" showrunner Mal Young said that Victor built Newman Enterprises for his family and he has always envisioned himself running it alongside his children and transferring the leadership position to them someday. That plan seems murky now, though, so he has to do something to salvage what's left of that vision.

In past "The Young and the Restless" episodes, Victor promised that the next Newman Enterprises president is among Nick, Adam (Justin Hartley), and Victoria (Amelia Heinle). However, Victor also managed to take back his offer whenever his children did something he disapproved of.

Victor's year has been tough especially when Adam died. These sad events will push Victor to make amends to Nick, end the power struggles between them, and try to return to the close relationship the Newman family once had.

In future "The Young and the Restless" episodes, Victor will try to help his children "nurture the next generation of Newmans," Soap Opera Spy added. If Victor's children decide to let him in, viewers will be able to see the patriarch working with his family more instead of displaying his influence over at Newman Enterprises.
