Speaking with Variety, creator Pete Nowalk assures fans that Wes will still be on the show as the second half of "How To Get Away With Murder" Season 2 and in Season 3 going forward as they will focus on the "twists and turns" underlying his death. As to who killed Wes, the showrunner said that "anything" is possible including possible suicide.
Laurel is pregnant, who is the baby daddy? In a separate interview, creator Pete Nowalk tells TV Line that the identity of the baby daddy will be revealed in the first episode following "How To Get Away With Murder" Season 2 midseason finale. The showrunner also hinted that Laurel's baby might not survive "Fire Night" as a pregnant Laurel might not fit in the "HTGAWM" series. Hinting that she had a "huge decision" to make, could it be that Laurel would want to get rid of her unborn child? Nothing is for sure, though. As he ultimately said that Laurel's character will be struggling in the remaining half of the series.
In the second half of "How To Get Away With Murder" Season 2, Pete Nowalk revealed that there will be a new mystery going forward to the HTGAWM Season 3. He also hinted that they are considering a prequel as they want to explore a more retrospect story-telling technique that might include the previously murdered Rebecca and Wes.
