AT&T Starts Offering Roll-Over For Unused Monthly Data

AT&T has announced that it will start offering to roll-over unused monthly data. The roll-over data will start automatically for existing customers on January 25th. For rolling over the unused data, AT&T will not charge anything to either the existing or new Mobile Share Value customers.

AT&T said there's no cap on the amount of data that can be rolled over to next month, so even if you don't use entire data allotment, you could use it later next month. However, the roll over data will expire at the end of the following month. It would also expire if you change or update the plan subscription.

Prior to AT&T, T-Mobile has also launched the roll over for unused data, called Data Stash. However, the AT&T denied it's following the rival's footsteps. It added that AT&T was the first to introduce the concept of roll over, applying it to voice minutes.

AT&T mobility and business solutions chief executive and president Ralph de la Vega said that he was "flattered" T-Mobile took AT&T's rollover concept and applied it to data. T-Mobile CEO John Legere shot back on AT&T's comment, calling it "nothing but marketing BS." Legere claimed that AT&T charges customers overages, pressuring customers into purchasing more data.
