After rumors regarding the certain date of release for the upcoming latest “Pokemon GO” update started coming up, Starbucks got into the picture when somebody noticed one of its announcements. Apparently the said announcement from the coffee franchise went viral a few days ago and it was intended for employees only to orient them with the upcoming partnership. Now, Starbucks have finally let it out and officially announced the partnership.

Just when everybody thought the “Pokemon GO” craze was dying down, the hype is back after Starbucks has officially announced its collaboration with the said mobile game. The announcement introducing the new “Pokemon GO” Frappuccino was reported through local television news programs all over the United States. According to the official website of the coffee shop chain, the “Pokemon GO” Frappuccino Blended Beverage will only be available for a limited time. The said cold drink that will represent “Pokemon GO” will be a blend of raspberry syrup and freeze-dried blackberries with vanilla bean base. It will be available in the U.S. and it has not been announced if it will be implemented in branches in other countries.

The partnership does not end with just a cold drink, it will also be registering Starbucks branches all over U.S. as Pokestops and/or gyms. According to Starbucks, the promotional drink was already rolled out to 7,800 branches and all these branches have already been updated as part of the “Pokemon GO” map. This collaboration with Niantic Inc. is one of the company’s strategy to invite more investors and endorsers to keep the mobile application going.

With brand stores turning into Pokestops and gyms, “Pokemon GO” users will be encouraged to visit the locations of the partners and even get the chance to get to know their products. Niantic recently announced its partnership with Sprint. Sprint just became one of the first partners of Niantic for “Pokemon GO” in the United States and all its branches within the country have become Pokestops or gyms as well. Some Sprint branches even provided charging stations to cater users of the viral mobile game.
