Nintendo has made a surprising news as they have announced that they will be releasing a new mobile game application called “Super Mario Run”. With the hype and success of “Pokemon GO”, the company is hoping that the said upcoming game will be as successful. Nintendo has also shed some light on this new venture.

The President of Nintendo of America, Reggie Fils-Aime has addressed the concerns of people asking why the sudden detour of venturing into mobile applications. He said that it was a business strategy as mobile games have become mainstream over the years especially in regions where the Nintendo console does not have a huge market in like Europe and South America. Launching a mobile application will change the company’s strategic gameplan and will give Nintendo huge opportunity to seize a huge marketable area.

Nintendo has been around for years, dating back to 1889 actually. Before there were video games, the founder of the company produced handmade playing cards. In the 1960s, the company eventually dropped conventional leisure items and delved on to create toys. Sometime in the 1970s, they finally created video games and became influential players in the business and technology industry.

But times have changed and more players with better video games have stepped up making the competition for Nintendo even harder. Experts have predicted that the new mobile game will rack in at least $71 million on its first month from release, which is only half of what Niantic's “Pokemon GO” earned. Nintendo has announced that “Super Mario Run” will be released on iOS on Dec. 15 and that certain Apple Stores have provided demo stations for the said mobile application prior to the official release. It will be then released for Android devices in 2017.

Super Mario Run” is an upcoming video game that was developed based on the main character of the “Super Mario” series, Mario. The gameplay of the mobile game relies on a side-scrolling, auto-runner platformer game. “Super Mario Run” also includes a separate game called “Toad Rally” where players can challenge other players through various levels.
