'Final Fantasy XV' Guide On Elemancy: Learn The Basics On How To Create Powerful Magic Spells

Square Enix have introduced a lot of new features, if not upgraded, in “Final Fantasy XV”. Though the gameplay still makes use of weapons, magic, and summons, it has made it more challenging in this new installment. Magic in “FFXV” is not as easy as drawing magic from enemies or simply learning them.

In “Final Fantasy XV”, magic is introduced through elemancy, which is the process of creating spells through various elements. The three main fundamental elements are fire, ice, and thunder. Noctis has to craft limited spells in given magic flasks and has to use them wisely. The elemental energies can be drained from various camping sites and other hidden places.

There are different ways of enhancing spells, which can turn them into curatives, curses, or even status boosts. This is done by crafting the element of choice with particular items, weapons, or even ingredients. Other add-ons can make a spell that is useful for the party. For example, when a customized spell is used by Noctis, the party will gain more experience points (EXP).

Notice that elemancy is quite challenging at first but only requires strategy when crafting one. The magic flasks will be acquired as the main story progresses. The strength and level of the spell depend on how much power is used during crafting. It also depends on the potency level of Noctis. The higher and quicker he levels up, the more powerful spells he can craft.

Only three spells can be crafted for each magic flask and each can only be cast once. But there are ways to boost the spell and turn into multiple casting spells or even increase the number of spells crafted by using certain items. Rare items and ingredients usually give greater abilities to the spells, which can be very useful when Noctis is already aware of the weaknesses of his opponent.

Other thing great about the gameplay is that Noctis can stack up on powers and craft spells in the middle of the game so be sure to have some spare space. Magic flasks cannot be forcibly emptied and can only be used again only when Noctis has used up the magic in it. So far, the game does not allow the mixing of elements to create other magic spells like Holy, Water, or Demi that are spells “Final Fantasy” avid players have grown accustomed to.

Spells cannot be forged with weapons or garments yet. Hopefully, if Square Enix decides to release another update, it would be to expand the limited universe of elemancy. “Final Fantasy XV” was just released last month and it has already been hailed as the fastest-selling and biggest selling video game of the year.
