James Gunn's "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" is riding an all-time high after the release of the its newest trailer, and fans will also be happy to hear that Marvel's favorite space bandits are getting their own game from Telltale, and a teaser has been revealed online.

Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series clip runs under a minute, and it's very similar to the opening of "Star Wars: A New Hope," but only this time, instead of a Star Destroyer, it's Star-Lord's walkman that floats over a planet. The song playing in the teaser is also "Dancin' in the Moonlight" by King Harvest.

CEO of Telltale Games Kevin Brunner says, "In Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series, players will take on multiple roles within the ragtag band of heroes, and take the pilot's seat in directing their escapades around the universe. We are always honored to be working with the best creative partners and storytellers in entertainment, and working with Marvel on this series leaves us excited to share what we've been developing when it premieres in 2017."

Telltale has been best known for making interactive storytelling games, and they have touched multiple franchises like "Game of Thrones," "The Walking Dead," "Borderlands 2," and most recently, "Batman." Though the teaser does share a logo with the MCU version of the Guardians, it's still unclear on whether the game will draw inspiration from the movie version of the team or the version from the comics.

Telltale has been known to put their own spin with the stories that they tell. For example, in the "Batman" Telltale series, the Penguin, who is usually known for his stout and penguin-like features, has been revamped into Oz, a taller and thinner Englishman who is actually good friends with Bruce Wayne before his rise to villainy. There's no telling what Telltale has in store for the Guardians of the Galaxy game as of now. Will fans get to take control of Chris Pratt's Star-Lord or Dave Bautista's Drax?

Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy: A Telltale Series is said to run for five episodes and will be available for Playstation 4, Xbox One, PC, and other mobile devices. No official release date has been announced, but fans can expect the first episode to be released sometime in 2017.
