‘Pokémon GO’ News And Updates: Gen 2 Confirmed, Coming This Week With 100 New Pokemon, Starbucks Beverage, Plus Code And More
The much awaited "Pokémon GO Gen 2" is getting ready for release on Dec. 8 according to news reports. The update is expected to add 100 new Pokemon, plus code for shapeshifting Pokemon and Starbucks beverage into the game. Interestingly, the developer Niantic has already announced that a new version is being updated today morning, though not specifying the Gen 2 or not.
It was for a long time the rumored Pokémon GO Gen 2 was reportedly coming with multiple features including the introduction of Ditto. But, Ditto is introduced in the third week of November without any major announcement. The new update has come from a Starbucks employee who got early access to the Pokémon GO Gen 2 with the confirmed date. It was rumored that Pokémon GO Gen 2 was expected during the first weeks of December.

It is reported that the Pokémon GO Gen 2 update is coming with the corporate partnership between Niantic and Starbucks. The employee guide of Starbucks confirms that from Dec. 8 many of the Starbucks shops would become Pokestops and Gyms. Incidentally, the shops would offer Pokémon Go-branded Frappuccino that would be displayed as an icon in Pokémon GO Gen 2 as well.
Interestingly, the developer has come up and confirmed that it is releasing an update 0.49.1 for Android and 1.19.1 for iOS and it has few features for the trainers. It includes options to transfer multiple Pokemon to Professor Willow at a time, option to check the total candy count for buddy Pokemon, Pokemon type icons in Gym Battle etc. Is it the indication of making the grounds ready for Pokémon GO Gen 2 update?
The corporate partnership, new Pokemon, plus code and Starbucks beverage in Pokémon GO Gen 2 update show that the developer is looking for more revenue. The new approach could be two directional with one adding engaging features into the game and second is going for corporate partnership and features to attract business for them to increase the profit of the developer.
