'NCIS' Season 14 Recap, News & Updates: 'Pay to Play' Episode Recap; Jenna Flemming’s Death Threat; Rat Prank Gone Bad?

In this week's NCIS episode titled Pay to Play, the audience watched what happened to Rep. Jenna Flemming after she got a death threat. Can the NCIS help them despite Flemming's resistance to any help? 

A rodent corpse is left for her and she found a note saying that she's next. Her personal aide thinks there is more to it than she does so she decides to call NCIS for help.

There can be a lot of people who can be a suspect in the incident and they've repeatedly threatened Flemming by social media, phone, and letter. Even there is a threat, she does not really want the help because she does not want people to think that she is a weak human.

NCIS does not really care how Flemming feels and decided to keep going with the case. NCIS went through the list of people who want her dead. The list was created by Flemming's aide Max. They found on one message board a poster who called Flemming a gutless rat. Torres and McGee check that out and they it turns out to be a teenager in a driving lesson. She was not considered a suspect now since she is only a threat in the digital world.

They were shocked to see Max is dead in a motel pool. It turns out that he was hit over the head an hour before but this is not the main cause of his death. When he got into the motel pool, he panicked, causing him to drown.

Meanwhile, Gibbs and Torres are questioning guests, when a woman intervened them with information. She discussed that she heard some men shouting before seeing a red Cadillac leaving the place. And then, she was pulled back to the room by a partially naked young man who just happened to be her accountant.

Laurie, Max's girlfriend, gets in touch. It is revealed that Max and Flemming were working on a secret project and the former was researching the possibility of closing Brighton Naval Base. With this information, NCIS has a new lead: Jed Hamilton, who just happens to own a red Cadillac. This is because the closing of the base would affect him.

When they came to his house, they only found a freezer full of dead rats. Abby confirmed that those rats were test subjects from Brighton Naval Base. In a recent study, it was found out that all the rats died of natural causes.

When Flemming asked for non-mouth breathers as part of her security detail, she was given Reeves and Torres. When the new detail got Flemming home, Hamilton came to her house, drunk and banging on her door. He admitted that the dead rat was a prank and he argued with Max at the motel. However, he said that he was at a strip club at the time of the murder. 

So who killed Max? Upon Abby's research, they found out that it was Laurie. At first, Laurie denied it but admitted that she hit Max but said that he was still well when she left. Catch the next episode of NCIS Season 14 next week, only at CBS.
