Microsoft Won’t Give Up: Launches New AI Chatbot Called Zo

After the unsuccessful launch of their previous chatbot 'Tay', Microsoft simply won't put the white flag up as it launches another one named 'Zo'. The all new artificial intelligence chatbot was launched at social messaging app 'Kik'.

Although Microsoft is yet to officially announce it, news about the new chatbot already spread after a Twitter user spotted it. Now, there are rumors saying that the app is going to be launched at Facebook Messenger, Twitter, and Snapchat once officially announced.

It should be remembered that early this year, the company launched their first AI-powered chatbot that they called 'Tay'. It was later discontinued after it received tons of complaints because of its racist and offensive comments. The case is now different with the coming of 'Zo', MsPoweruser reported, "Zo is essentially a censored Tay or an English-variant of Microsoft's Chinese chatbot Xiaoice."

Zo, however, is only open for limited users. This could be a move for Microsoft to prevent another rampage, like what happened with the previous chatbot. One of the topics that Zo simply would not discuss is obviously, politics.

When asked when will Microsoft offer Zo to other platforms, here's what they have to say:

"We're excited about the possibilities in this space. Through our continued learning, we are experimenting with a new chatbot we've named 'Zo.' With Zo, we're focused on advancing conversational capabilities within our AI platform."

Zo typically targets the teen market. You can find Zo by simply searching for bots. About 60 percent of people who make use of bots on Kik messengers are teenagers who are between 13 to 19 years of age. For now, there is very limited information about the new bot, so let's wait a little further before we will be able to know more about it.
