“Dishonored” was the game which revitalized the stealth genre. After the complete failure of the “Thief” reboot, “Dishonored” came on the scene and took all the spoils of success with it. Even though it felt quite short, the game offered freedom, puzzles, and action which kept players coming back for one more replay of the game. Now “Dishonored 2” is here and is it better than the original?

When it comes to visuals, the game is worth it. Segment Next shares that the game has never looked so stunning. The textures have been modernized and optimized for current generation consoles. The game can be played on a  1080p resolution without any problems, keeping an almost steady pace of 30 FPS. Lighting, smoothing, and character motion have been improved since the first game and mixed with the original steampunk setting of the game is a feast for the eyes, which will leave player with a gaping mouth at certain points in the game, especially where the scenery reveals its marvel.

Daily Star shares some of the positive features which make the game and amazing experience. Keeping faithful to the first game’s code, there are multiple ways of passing the challenges which players face through the game and it depends on the player's cunning, perception and patience to discover them. The players' actions have effect on the world around and everything the players does has its consequence, so think good before acting. Another strong side of the game is the introduction of Emily Kaldwin as a playable character. Her skills are concentrated on crowd control, which makes a playthrough with her distinctly different than one with Corvo. Also, the player has the choice of not accepting the gift of supernatural powers, passing the game as a human being.

Among the negative traits of the game, Games Radar shares the poor optimization of the game, which at heavier moments loses its FPS rate on consoles. Another problem is the relative shortness of the game. Even though it is a complete product it seems to fall short, just like the first game. The replayability factor was what Arcane Studios concentrated on, but adding a few more hours of game time would not have been a strain to the gamers. Even though its flaws, the game is an amazing experience and a good purchase for any fan of the stealth genere.
