‘Modern Family’ Season 8 Spoilers: NBA Vets Guest Starring! Peyton Manning Breaking Up Gloria & Jay?
Two NBA veterans will guest star on "Modern Family" Season 8. Peyton Manning is also guest-starring as a character who will stir up trouble between Gloria (Sofia Vergara) and Jay (Ed O'Neill).
DeAndre Jordan and Charles Barkley are guest-starring on "Modern Family" Season 8 in an episode airing in the later weeks of Jan. 2017, Spoilers Guide claimed. In the episode, Phil (Ty Burrell) will join a basketball tournament that he trained so hard for a year after failing in the previous game.
The pressure, however, spikes up for Phil when he witnesses how excellent Jordan and Barkley's characters are in basketball. "Modern Family" viewers should expect tension between the two players and Phil because of their commitment to winning.

Peyton Manning will appear on "Modern Family" Season 8 in January. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the retired NFL quarterback and two-time Super Bowl champion will portray Coach Gary, a sports tutor that Gloria hired to teach Joe (Jeremy Maguire). Jay won't take Gary's appearance well when the coach starts helping around the house too, leaving him "feeling a bit emasculated."
Will Gary's presence drive a wedge between Gloria and Jay's relationship? Stay tuned to "Modern Family" to find out. Manning will appear in the current season's 12th episode. Other guest stars in Season 8 are Kelsey Grammer and Nathan Fillion.
The upcoming ninth episode of "Modern Family" Season 8 will showcase Manny (Rico Rodriguez) and Luke (Nolan Gould) organizing the school's extravagant winter dance and freaking out when a texting error happens, SpoilerTV reported. Meanwhile, Gloria, Claire (Julie Bowen), Cam (Eric Stonestreet), and Mitchell (Jesse Tyler Ferguson) help out at the dance.
Jay, however, doesn't want to lend a hand so he pretends to want to hang out with Phil, a plan which backfires spectacularly because they don't really have a smooth-sailing relationship. Gloria and Claire play matchmaker when they try to set up the school principal with Marjorie (Vanessa Bayer), a bossy mom.
Mitchell, on the other hand, gets uneasy to be back in the high school scene and feels bad when he sees himself in the school bully, pushing him to seek "a little guidance." The upcoming "Modern Family" episode titled "Snow Ball" airs on Wednesday, Dec. 14 at 9:00-9:31 PM EST on ABC.
