Samsung Galaxy 7 vs iPhone 7 vs Google Pixel: Stunning Displays, Day-Long Battery Life But Which Is The SLOWEST? [SPEED TEST]

This year is a good one for smartphones with the releases of Samsung Galaxy 7, iPhone 7 and Google Pixel. These handsets are the top dominant players in the market while others such as the LG G5, HTC 10, and Sony Experia XZ, though impressive, did not make a dent, sales-wise.

Apple's iPhone 7, Samsung Galaxy 7, and Google Pixel have three selling points that are identical - displays that wow users, battery life that lasts almost a day, and incredible cameras that capture DSLR-quality images. However, there is one factor that sets one above the rest - speed

Speed is one of the most important features that will make or break a smartphone. Buyers consider speed as a factor before deciding to choose their next smartphone. In a speed test conducted recently, which handset reigns as the fastest? Is it the iPhone 7, the Samsung Galaxy S7 or the Google Pixel?

The speed test was conducted technology blog TechRadar. It pitted the iPhone 7, Samsung Galaxy S7 and Google Pixel against each other by determining which offers optimal performance when being used for memory-crunching apps like games, video editing, and opening large files.

The definitive speed test reveals the iPhone 7 as the fastest among the three handsets. It clocked one minute and 40 seconds when loading and closing varying apps in quick succession. Google Pixel is a surprise second, beating the Samsung Galaxy S7 by 15 seconds, with two minutes and three seconds.

The iPhone 7 being the fastest among the three is a no-brainer. Its A10 Fusion chip has two high-performance cores for the most intense tasks, and two low-energy cores for easier jobs and power efficiency.

The Express reported that how the operating system handles the memory is vital to the speed performance of smartphones. However, the website reiterates that speed tests such as that of TechRadar's do not often reflect real-world performance. The details of TechRadar's speed test is documented in the video below:
