After Vanessa Ives died in the finale of "Penny Dreadful" Season 3, the show will not be coming back. However, fans are still hoping that the Victorian horror series of Showtime should continue with its Season 4 with Netflix helping them.
Showtime president David Nevins admitted that the reason why "Penny Dreadful" ended with just 3 seasons is because creator John Logan feels that it is time to end it. Without Vanessa Ives (Eve Green), the show cannot continue, Variety reported.
While a lot of its fans were screaming for "Penny Dreadful" Season 4 but Logan also gave in to how he envisioned Vanessa Ives ending. As most viewers got the shock of their lives when they finally found out that Penny Dreadful is not coming back, now fans are still petitioning for the horror series to return and it seems that Showtime has gone deaf ears.
Nevins confirmed that while they didn't give all the right hints during Season 3 that "Penny Dreadful" was ending but adding a Season 4 to the show would lead to its wrong trajectory. While they ended the Victorian horror series very short but both Nevins and Logan are confident that the show will be re-watched over and over again.
"Penny Dreadful" Season 1 to 3 can now be watched continuously on Netflix and other platforms and there are different takes to first-time viewers who are anticipating about its dreadful end. According to a writer from Geekdad, the end of "Penny Dreadful" after Season 3 is just timely. "I love good storytelling, but just because a show can keep going on doesn't mean it should."
New TV series will undoubtedly come this 2017. While viewers are still holding against hope that "Penny Dreadful" Season 4 may still continue but as Showtime's president David Nevins and creator John Logan already closed the story of Vanessa Ives, fans should do too.
