Eagles Vs Bengals: Eagles Sloppy Game & Analysis Of The Good & Bad Of The Recent Game
The Philadelphia Eagles are having a rough time with the current play and they are showing it to the fans. Even the head coach Doug Pederson cannot stay still and keep quiet with how disappointing the events are happening to his team.
Pederson has made it clear to his players after their loss to the Green Bay Packers that the result of the final month of the regular season would reflect on who really wants to be where they are right now and who doesn't. A meaningful statement that wasn't elaborated but it may mean that their career could end.
In the recent game, it seems that they were uninterested and this was shown in how sloppy they played. It was a 32-14 loss. With this dismal score, Pederson stated that it is not because of lack of effort but the disciplines of assignment. People who have watched it wouldn't think that way though, factors like the offensive life that didn't get through, missed goals, penalties, inconsistent performance and Matthew's injury that caused him to stay at the side line caused a game that wasn't what Eagles' fans have expected.
Carson Wentz had his worst outing of his career after his stunning opening to the season. As a quarterback, without running back (Ryan Mathews and top receiver Jordan Matthews) even with his struggle to make it work, the offensive line still ended up ineffective.
One of the good things that made the game worth watching was when Nelson Agholor took the starting lineup with a total of four catches for 23 yards and Paul Turner showed off his speed. Unfortunately, some of the disappointing moments was Carson Wentz's inconsistent performance and poor habits, Caleb Sturgis missed a 51-yard field goal and Eagles flagged 10 times for 88 yards.
What happened to the Bengals caused some of the people to question Doug Pederson's confidence that his team is heading in the right direction. It is not yet too late, though. The team can still do better.
