‘The Flash’ Season 3 Episode 9 Spoilers: Flashpoint Repercussions Not Over Yet? Jay Garrick Helps Earth-1; Why Was Iris’ ByLine Changed?

"The Flash" Season 3 episode 9 spoilers point to Barry Allen leaving Earth-1 again but this time, he will not alter the timeline, hopefully. Central City is suggested to see a new villain created by Dr. Alchemy which is said to be something that The Flash and S.T.A.R. Labs have not encountered yet. This will reportedly require Barry to get help from Jay Garrick of Earth-3 on "The Flash" midseason finale.

In an interview with TV Line with showrunner Andrew Kreisberg, he revealed that a more pressing dilemma will come to Barry after The CW crossover special event. "The midseason finale (airing Dec. 6) kind of creates a new problem for our heroes that they weren't anticipating, something that they've never faced before," Kreisberg said. He also implied that the new enemy is huge and the following episodes of "The Flash" Season 3 will be driven by this arc.

As it seems, Dr. Alchemy's husk villain is so dangerous that Barry needs another The Flash to help him battle the new threat to Central City. It can be recalled that Jay already appeared in the earlier episode of this season when he made Barry realize how risky time travel is. Barry's meeting with The Flash of Earth-3 is also exciting as he is a doppelganger of his father.

Seeing his father's doppelganger may help Barry forgive himself especially not that he has seen the repercussions of Flashpoint one by one. The past few episodes of "The Flash" Season 3 saw how his friends have been badly affected by Flashpoint and there is nothing that he can do to fix it. Even the Dominators' invasion is a result of Flashpoint so is there anything in "The Flash" Season 3 that is not a product of Barry's time travel?

Moreover, a report from Entertainment Weekly revealed that the consequences of Flashpoint are not over yet. Kreisberg said that the removal of Iris' byline in the futuristic newspaper in Gideon's vault will present complications in the later episodes of "The Flash" Season 3. Apparently, Barry himself thinks that the change may mean that his relationship with Iris in the future will also be affected by Flashpoint.
