Ragnar (Travis Fimmel) faced the lowest point of his life after his treacherous brother, Rollo (Clive Standen) defeated him in Paris. The man whom everybody thought was the greatest in the world fled away and abandoned his men for years.

The second part of "Vikings" Season 4 opens with Ragnar's return to Kattegat. As expected, his men, including his sons were not happy with his comeback. However, Bjorn and Ivar (Alex Høgh Andersen) are supportive of him. In fact, for Bjorn, his father is still the greatest man in the world, International Business Times reported.

Per Variety, Ragnar Lothbrok will attempt suicide by pursuing the villagers to kill him. He will be testing his fate but gods will not allow him to die that way. At this point, he has only two things in mind and that is to go to England to check the wreckage of his settlement and to talk with Ecbert.

Although Ragnar survived, reports are rife that he will eventually die. In fact, there are rumors that "Vikings" Season 5 will shift focus to another character per Mobile & Apps. Many believe that Ivar is next to the throne.

"Vikings" EP Michael Hirst confirmed to Variety that historically, Ivar will be the most famous Viking. So why did Ragnar Lothbrok chose his crippled son to join him in England? Everyone knows that Ivar struggled to be respected by his brothers due to his physical disabilities. Ragnar recognizes the anger in his son and encourages him to use it to his advantage. He knows that Ivar is the best person to revenge him.

"Vikings" Season 5 will premiere in February 2017. Meanwhile, season 4B airs every Wednesday at 9/8c on History.
