Joe McKnight, the former USC star and the running back for New York Jets had been shot and killed. Further details were reported and the world of sports will surely feel sad about this.
People have been wondering what happened to Joe McKnight. The incident happened at around 3pm on Thursday in the intersection of Holmes Boulevard and Behrman Highway. The place was in Terrytown which is a town outside New Orleans as stated by Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office.
Joe McKnight was shot and a witness had narrated what happened as the witness have seen how the shooting took place. Two men were seen to have been involved in a heated argument but actually the other man was shouting to the other guy who is apologizing. The said guy that has allegedly been apologizing was Joe McKnight and the guy yelling shouted something and fired at McKnight.
Joe McKnight is only 28 years old and the guy who shot McKnight is currently in custody. A man, 54 years old in age was identified as Ronald Gasser. The deputies have tried to revive McKnight but it was unsuccessful and the sheriff's spokesman have explained what happened as 'road rage' and didn't provide any further details.
Joe McKnight had accomplished a lot of things including him being the next in line of USC playmakers, amassing 2,755 yards and 15 touchdowns, drafted in the 2010 NFL draft by the New York Jets in the fourth round, and McKnight's 125 yards on only 10 carries with USC defeating the Illinois team with 49-17.

USC Coach Clay Helton posted how the news saddens him and Brian Cushing, McKnight's teammate, felt crushed about it.
