‘Supergirl’ Season 2 Episode 9 Latest Spoilers, Updates: Familiar Faces Will Return But Not Cat Grant? More DC Characters To Be Introduced

"Supergirl" Season 2 winter finale set the stage for The CW crossover special event without major cliffhangers like the usual. Now that The CW special event is over, Kara Danvers is back with her family and friends but familiar faces are expected to return on Earth-38, including the Dominators. However, Kara's former boss Cat Grant is still missing in action but more DC characters are said to make their debut.

"Supergirl" Season 2 spoilers suggest that the Dominators will follow Kara on Earth-38. In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Executive Producer Andrew Kreisberg said that the Dominators will return in the later episodes. The Dominators were defeated by The Flash' new formed superhero team during The CW crossover special event but it doesn't mean that their alien race has been annihilated.

Spoilers also reveal that the new episode to air in January will feature some fan-favorite DC characters. "Supergirl" Season 2 episode 9 plot has not been revealed but reports claimed that it was directed by Kevin Smith who convinced his daughter Harley Quinn Smith to play a role in the said episode. "Supergirl" Season 2 spoilers suggest that episode 9 will be based on the script of "Superman Lives" which the director formerly wrote for Superman, BleedingCool reported.

Meanwhile, fans of are well aware that Cat took a leave of absence from CatCo because of the move of "Supergirl" Season 2 filming location from Los Angeles to Vancouver. Apparently, actress Calista Flockhart who plays the role of Cat cannot commit to travel to Vancouver but she agreed to be a recurring guest star for this season. That said, fans are now waiting for reports of her return.

However, it seems that actress Flockhart is not returning anytime soon as another report from Entertainment Weekly revealed that the producers still need to work on Flockhart's schedule as the actress has personal stuff to deal with as of that moment. Also, EP Kreisberg cannot confirm the number of episodes that the actress can do for the show.
