Netflix has finally heard the cry of its many subscribers as it has given exactly what users have been craving for from the start: offline playback. Netflix recently announced that users are now given the ability to download selected Netflix content that they can use when they are far from any data connection. The said feature is available for all iOS and Android tablets and smartphones, although it will require version 8.0 and higher for iOS and 4.4.2 or higher for Android.

The latest version of Netflix app comes with a "download" button found at the details page of a TV series or film. Let it be known however that not all titles on the streaming are allowed to be watched offline. Aside from this, the app now comes with a new menu that gives users the chance to see the list of titles available for download.

Although the option is limited right now, Netflix assures the public that they will be adding new movies and series in the coming days. But for now, users can feast on original series like Narcos, Orange is the New Black, Stranger Things, Master of None, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, and The Crown. TV shows that are available for offline viewing include the Supernatural, Breaking Bad, The Flash, The Office, and The 100. Kids can also enjoy movies like Home, Minions, and Kung Fu Panda 3.

The available content will vary region to region, but there should be enough for you to be able to spend the whole Saturday just watching your favorite flicks. You will also be permitted to make use of two quality options, depending on whether you would like to prioritize storage space or video quality. The new feature is definitely a very good move for Netflix, given that users had been waiting for it for too long.
