Popular Pokemon Arcade Game will be having its new challenger! Empoleon will be available for play on December 15.

According to Bandai Namco, the company released information that a new Pokemon will join the ranks of the others in Pokken Tournament. The Emperor Pokemon from the fourth generation of Pokemon, Empoleon, will be joining Blaziken and the other Pokemon in Pokken Tournament. Empoleon is known for being the final evolution of the Sinnoh water-type starter, Piplup. Empoleon will be coming to the arcade version of Pokken Tournament this month.

Pokken Tournament is a Pokemon-inspired fighting game developed by Bandai Namco in 2015. A Wii U version of it was released this year. The game involves a battle brawl between other Pokemon in the roster in various environments. Some of Pokken Tournament's playable roster includes Blaziken, Braixen, Charizard, Croagunk, Garchomp, Gardevoir, Lucario, Mewtwo, Pikachu, Scizor, Suicune and Sceptile.

Empoleon will be joining the ranks of Croagunk, Scizor and Darkrai, who all recently joined the fray this year. No further information has been revealed on what kind of moveset would the Pokemon be using. Fans can expect Empoleon's trailer soon, showing off his movesets and his playing style against other Pokemon.

Since Empoleon is an arcade release, it is unlikely that he, along with the other Pokemon released for the Arcade version will be coming over to North America's Wii U version. It is possible with DLCs but Nintendo is currently focusing on their development with their upcoming console, Nintendo Switch. However, it may be possible for Pokken Tournament to make its way to Nintendo Switch some time in the future, along with full DLCs.

Pokken Tournament is available for the Wii U  in North America while an Arcade version of it is found in Japan.
