‘Pokemon Go’ Latest News, Update: Niantic Expands New Nearby Tracker Across The United States! Is Christmas Update Coming Soon?
"Pokemon Go" developer Niantic has finally decided to expand the Nearby Pokemon feature to the rest of the United States. In addition, "Pokemon Go" players in some parts of Europe may also get their hands on the said tracker.
"We will be expanding the Nearby Pokémon feature to the rest of the continental United States and large parts of Europe. We will continue to review the feedback submitted on our official social media accounts and in other channels and make changes if necessary," the "Pokemon Go" team confirmed.
The new Nearby Pokemon feature reportedly helps players check the location of Pokemon within their vicinity. This is based on the player's proximity to PokeStops in the area, Business Insider reported.
As players open the Nearby Pokemon feature window, Pokemon creatures will appear on display in front of nearby PokeStops. Players may click their desired Pokemon to expand the image and highlight its location on the "Pokemon Go" map according to WWG.
Meanwhile, news about "Pokemon Go" Christmas event have surfaced online but Niantic has not confirmed their plans for the possible update. The latest rumors suggest that the "Pokemon Go" Christmas update will bring new features such as Holiday Hi-Jynx, 12 Days of Christmas and Double XP Bonus.
Holiday Hi-Jynx is said to be a "Pokemon Go" Christmas event feature that will involve the Pokemon called Jynx. Jynx reportedly made an appearance in the Pokemon animated series as Santa's helper so Jynx may potentially be a part of the "Pokemon Go" Christmas event.
Another "Pokemon Go" Christmas event feature is believed to be the 12 Days of Christmas wherein players will get 12 different surprises before Christmas day. Such surprises may include daily events that players need to complete within the day.
"Pokemon Go" Christmas event is also suggested to carry out double XP bonuses during the Christmas week similar to the Halloween and Thanksgiving events. However, players should take such speculations with a grain of salt until Niantic confirms the release of the "Pokemon Go" Christmas update.
