The world is recently engulfed with sorrow as news spread of the Chapecoense soccer team got into a tragic plane crash on Nov. 28. The team was apparently en route to one of the most important matches of their lives and what could have been a miracle for Brazil and the city of Chapecoense.

Millions have mourned and millions more have shown support for the departed players and staff of the team. The Brazilian team was going to play against the Colombian team Atletico Nacional. In honor of the Chapecoense team, Colombia has offered the championship title to them.

Other organizations have also paid tribute to the fallen team as “FIFA 17” has just released free in-game stuff in support of Chapecoense. The freebies consist of a crest and a kit, which includes the home uniform of the Chapecoense team. “FIFA 17” is highly encouraging players to use the said kit and crest to commemorate the lives of the players and staff who died in the plane crash and to support their family, friends, and fans.

“FIFA 17” released the free kit and badge when fans took to Reddit that EA Sports should give out the freebies as a gesture of support towards the said team and the loved ones they have left behind. The free stuff can be found in the football video game’s Ultimate Team mode. The uniform and badge are untradeable in-game and cannot be sold. There are no announcement if the freebies will be available for a limited time only or not.

Some have pointed out on Reddit that the other version of the Chapecoense uniform is available for sale online. The away uniform of the said team is clad in white, which is different from their home uniform that is in green. The said away white Chapecoense uniform have been reportedly to be sold out as soon as it was made available.

This is probably the first time FIFA has paid tribute to a team by releasing mementos through a video game that people and players all over the world would have access to. “FIFA 17” was released worldwide on Sept. 29 for MS Windows, PlayStation, and Xbox.
