Nintendo Attractions Coming Soon to Universal!
Nintendo-inspired themes are coming to Universal Studios. No other information as to what these attractions are has been revealed.
Last year, Nintendo announced a partnership cooperation with Universal Parks and Resorts. The partnership aims to bring Nintendo's iconic video games for tourists to enjoy. The goal of the project is to have tourists to "step inside the world of video games" using characters, actions and adventure from iconic games.
Nintendo revealed that these Nintendo-themed parks will be coming over in three different locations; Osaka, Orlando and Hollywood. The Universal parks found in Osaka, Orlando, and Hollywood will have some of Nintendo's iconic video game inspired attractions. Some of the possible Universal attraction themes may include Mario and his friends from Super Mario Bros and Link and Zelda from The Legend of Zelda.
According to Nintendo, these parks will be "expansive, immersive and interactive." Shops and attractions will be fully video-game inspired. The project is currently underway and further details about these attractions are coming soon. The company released a teaser trailer showing the thoughts of the people behind the project and what they want to achieve with this partnership. Nintendo also mentions that these portions of the amusement park will be opened separately in the next coming years.
Last March, Nintendo reported that a Nintendo-themed portion in the Universal Studios in Osaka is currently in development. The project will cost three hundred fifty-one million, shouldered by the Universal Parks and Resorts. The attraction will be similar to Universal's Harry Potter-themed zone but with Mario as the main line of the attraction. The company said the attraction should be finished and opened to the public by 2020, just in time for Tokyo Summer Olympics. The company also released a Legend of Zelda inspired escape room game based off from the game's setting.
