'Pokemon Sun and Moon' Guide: Where to Catch Totodile, Evolve Croconaw and Finally Feraligatr

Totodile was first introduced as the starter Pokemon of Generation 2 so it's not surprising if many players are looking for it now to join their party in "Pokemon Sun and Moon". Its final evolve, Feraligatr, is considered to be one of the strongest Pokemon in generation two and is expected to have the same kind of power in Sun and Moon. Fortunately, Totodile can be caught early in the game but the process can be a bit tricky.

Where to Catch Totodile?

So far, there is only one way to catch a Totodile in "Pokemon Sun and Moon" and that is through the QR Scanner. The player must activate the island scan while in Melemele Island and check if it is Totodile's shadow that's found. Usually, Totodile is the one found during Monday island scan searches. Once Totodile is found, the player should be able to find him in Seaward Cave that is accessible through Melemele Meadow.

Catching Totodile in Seaward Cave

When the player reaches Seaward Cave, just go around the area until they encounter a wild Pokemon. Most of the time this will only take 5 to 10-minute search before Totodile is found in "Pokemon Sun and Moon". Players just need to make sure they have a Pokemon in their party with the False Swipe move. This ability makes it easier for any trainer to catch a Pokemon as it will never drain a wild Pokemon's HP to zero.

Evolving Totodile to Croconaw and Feraligatr

Once Totodile is caught in "Pokemon Sun and Moon", players will just need to increase its happiness and level to evolve it up to its final form, Feraligatr. Its second evolve, Croconaw, can be attained when Totodile has reached level 18 while third evolve, Feraligatr, can be acquired when the Pokemon reaches level 30.
