Xbox One Tricks That PlayStation 4 Can't Do
There are several features that the Xbox One can do and the PlayStation 4 just can't. For one, it has a plethora of Xbox 360 games for its backward compatibility feature. The PS4 has a similar feature called PS Now, but this requires the player to rent PS3 games and stream them online. As for the Xbox One, all the user needs to do is dust off an Xbox 360 game disc and insert it to the Xbox One, provided that the game is listed on the backward compatibility library.
The Xbox 360 Disks Only Act As CD Key
According to a post here, there is no way for the Xbox One to directly play an Xbox 360 game so the guys at Microsoft developed a feature that allows the Xbox One unit to read the CD Key from the Xbox 360 disc. Once verified, the system then downloads a copy of the game and install it to the console, the 360 game is now playable but the user will need to keep the disc in while playing.
It's Possible to Continue 360 Games With The Xbox One After Migration
Those who are still playing 360 games and plan to migrate to Xbox One can do so without worries of losing their game progress from the previous console. Users can actually save their game online and continue playing with progress on Xbox One. As always, players need to make sure that the desired game should be in the backward compatibility library.
Personalize Xbox One Background, Even With Own Photos
PlayStation owners cannot change the background image for their console home page with a personal photo. They can, however, choose themes. For the Xbox One, the console allows users to use their own photos to customize their dashboard. All the user needs to do is go to Settings and select Personalization. Next step is to go to "My color & background." Here, players can customize their background colors and change it to a preferred photo.
The Xbox One Can Save Games and Data to an External Hard Drive
Xbox One's standard drive may not be enough to keep all games and game data. Fortunately, it allows users to use an external hard drive to store more.
