‘Rick and Morty’ Season 3 Air Date, News & Updates: Premiere Date Delayed Again?
Fans have eagerly waited the season 3 premiere of Adult Swim's animated sci-fi series "Rick and Morty". The year-end 2016 release commitment by its showrunners is likely to be broken as the show does not seem to be airing anytime soon.
Season 3 premiere date remains elusive so far. Though the air date is shrouded in mystery, almost everyone remains hopeful for the show's grand return in either November or December 2016.
One of the co-creators, Dan Harmon, had previously teased of bringing back the show at the end of 2016. Harmon told the audience at the Magic City Comic Con in January that they are planning a premiere "targeting around the end of this year." However, even a December release remains nearly impossible, so forget November. Show writer Dan Guterman revealed in late October that he had just finished the script.
It was evident in Harmon's recent reddit AMA, wherein he failed to provide a specific release date for "Rick and Morty." "We are going as fast as we can my brother," Harmon stated. It was even confirmed by co-writers Sarah Carbiener and Erica Rosbe, who both revealed that the scripts were done already and the animations have been under production as well. Still, the animation procedure is pretty slow so the show cannot be expected in either of this year's remaining months.
An early 2017 launch is more possible in this situation. PopDavid, a Reddit user, who is allegedly a design assistant on "Rick and Morty", posted on an online thread claiming that new episodes will not be released this year. A January or February next year was suggested by him as a plausible premiere release dates, according to The Bitbag.
Meanwhile, a March 2017 premiere date seems the most possible premiere for the critical-acclaimed animate series as it aligns perfectly well with Mr. Poopybutthole's claims during the second season finale. At the end of season 2, Mr. Poopybutthole stated that the next season would not happen for another year and a half. From his claim, the estimated date will be March 2017.
