Oregon Football to be Disciplined for Taunting Florida State with ‘No Means No’ Chant

The Oregon football team will be disciplined for taunting Florida State's quarterback, Jameis Winston with a "no means no" chant. Winston faced sexual assault accusations two years ago.

"We are aware of the inappropriate behavior in the postgame," Oregon coach Mark Helfrich said in a statement. "This is not what our program stands for, and the student-athletes will be disciplined internally."

After winning the Rose Bowl 59-20, the Oregon Ducks can be heard chanting the phrase, "no means no" in a video clip taken from the field by FOX Sports West's Bear Heiser. In the footage, the players, which included sophomore linebacker Torrodney Prevot and redshirt freshman Kani Benoit, were chanting to the tune and tomahawk chop actions of Florida State's "war chant."

Although Heiser has called the end of game celebrations inappropriate, the coach released a longer, 27-second video that revealed that the chant was initially started somewhere off camera, and might not have been necessarily started by the Oregon players.

Winston was accused of rape in 2012. The athlete was never charged. In a university student code of conduct hearing, Winston was cleared.

Oregon will take on Ohio State in the national title game on Jan 12 at Arlington, TX. Ohio State pulled the upset when they beat Alabama 42-35.
