No Man’s Sky Update: Hello Games Devs Announces ‘The Foundation Update’ To Be Released Soon; Detailed Patch Notes To Follow
Hello Games is cementing the foundations of their base building and they dub it as "The Foundation Update" which will be released anytime this week. This has been five years in the making. Devs began working on this update right after No Man's Sky was released. The team then started to update the game with seven patches tiered across both platforms; latest of which was 1.09 on September 24; which has radically fixed most issues and pesky bugs concerning its post-release.
No Man's Sky Foundation Update Sets The Stage For Future Updates
Now, "The Foundation Update" is far from extraordinary. It may not be the team's biggest update so far, but it's certainly the foundation of better things in hiatus. Yes, the small team has been mum amidst complaints and controversies being thrown at them and focused more on improving the game and fixing its many issues. This update base-building update is supposed to set the stage for future massive updates.
Seems like no one really thinks "The Foundation Update" can help people go back to playing No Man's Sky. Could this be irrelevant? Would you care about base-building at this point especially in a game with no real goals? Many gamers are hoping that the patch notes would be able to provide them some sense. It has been frustrating how No Man's Sky failed to deliver as promised especially the first time it was released in the market. There were even some fans who actually wanted to file a lawsuit for false advertising because of the disparity between the product and what was originally shown in promotions.
Love And Hate Saga With No Man's Sky
"They could add fifty, a hundred new features, but unless some core elements of the game are changed, I don't think it's going to be anything that draws players back in droves. I have previously said that the only thing that would get me to come back would be a huge overhaul of planet diversity, both in terms of the types of planets themselves and on the wildlife/alien life found there. If there was something truly unique and surprising to discover out there, I might come back and try to hunt for it. But if not? I doubt base-building or multiplayer or freighter ownership is really going to do the trick;" according to Paul Tassi of Forbes.
No Man's Sky certainly has been one of the most controversial games released. Some players have grown to abhor it some point while others are open to giving the game that fighting chance with 'The Foundation Update' and patch notes coming this week. Hopefully, this amplifies the gameplay and turn things around especially for the skeptics out there.
