Chinese Teacher Held for Molesting 15 Boys

A teacher has been arrested for allegedly molesting 15 boys in China's Yunnan Province.

Identified as Zhang, the 32-year-old teachers has been accused of molesting 15 boys in the past couple of years, he confessed to the police.

He taught Chinese language to grade four students at the Lima Primary School in Guichao Township, Funing County, China.org stated that the country's government-run Xinhua news agency reported.

Zhang is married and has a three-year-old child as well. It has been learnt that he forced the victims into his dormitory before assaulting them. Medical check-ups on the 15 boys revealed that they did not sustain any physical injury.

The school's principal who hired Zhang has been dismissed by the county education department.

Several such sexual assault cases have plagued China in recent time. In November last year, a 60-year-old teacher was detained for molesting 19 girls who were students at a primary school in Hunan province. In September, a 61-year-old teacher was held for raping several primary school girls in the Hubei province.

In 2012, vice-principal of the No. 2 High School of East China Normal University was sacked after a group of his former students, now men in their 30s, went online to accuse him of having "intimate bodily contacts" with them 15 years ago, according to Shanghai List .

A school teacher in Anhui Province was even sentenced to death for raping five young students and sexually assaulting six others.

A total of 8,069 people in China were charged with sexual assault on children between 2010 and 2013, according to the Supreme People's Procuratorate.
