Fox Announces 'Avatar 2' Release Date For Real & Other "Marvel" Movies In 2017
20th Century Fox might have just announced James Cameron's "Avatar 2" release date. The studio confirmed new dates for its upcoming movies along with two Marvel movies to boot. Interestingly, they also announced an untitled project that is to be produced by James Cameron.
"Avatar 2" Official Release Date
Fox announced it has booked the date December 21, 2018, for a Lightstorm production, which is a company owned by James Cameron. With Fox the exclusive distributor of "Avatar 2" franchise, put two and two together, then it could very well be the movie that many have long been waiting for.
The "Avatar 2" was previously scheduled in 2014, but James Cameron decided it will add four script sequels simultaneously, Fox moved it back to Christmas 2018. But, if there is anything fans have learned about the "Avatar 2" is that there is no guarantee that the movie will be released on an official date.
Other Fox Movies Release Date Revealed
Fox has also slated two Marvel movies for November 2, 2018, and February 14, 2019. There are two other slots reserved on March 3, 2018, and June 29, 2018, for another two untitled Marvel movies. Slashfilm postulates that these could be the "Deadpool 2" sequel, "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2" in March 2018, "X-Men" sequel, and probably try "Fantastic Four" once more. The Marvel movie earmarked in November 2018 could be Disney's "Mulan" and "Universal Monsters" in February 2019.
Fox also changed the schedule of some of its films. Deadline reports that the sequel to "Prometheus" entitled "Alien Covenant" will now air on May 19, 2017, "Blazing Samurai" and "Emoji" animated film are set on August 4, 2017, slot, "Alien" on May 19, 2017, with "Annabelle 2" sequel, "Baywatch" with Dwayne Johnson, "Nut Job 2," and "Diary Of A Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul."
"The Kingsmen: Gold Circle" has been moved back to October 6, 2017.
2017 will be a year for sequel it seems. The pressure is on for the producers to break the box office hits that its predecessors.
