Fox Releases Dates On Two Marvel Unnamed Films; ‘Aliens: Covenant’ & ‘Kingsman’ Sequel Gets Another Release Date
Is it timely for Marvel fans to celebrate Thanksgiving? A number of Fox movies already received their release dates and it includes two unnamed Marvel movies.
One untitled Marvel movie was set to release on Nov. 2, 2018, putting up a competition against Disney's live-action adaption of the classic animated movie "Mulan". Another unspecified Marvel movie will be released on Valentine's Day 2019.
Fox has the rights on a variety of Marvel comics. The unspecified films could be a sequel to the 2016 summer hit "Deadpool" starring Ryan Reynolds as the titular character or an addition to the "X-Men" franchise.
Despite being a critical and commercial flop, Fox Studios still retain rights to "Fantastic Four." They also have the right to "Gambit" starring Channing Tatum.
"Gambit" has still yet to start its pre-production after it was announced that the "Magic Mike" star will star in his own superhero movie. With no progress with its production, Gambit suffers from several delays.
Based on the release calendar, other Marvel movies are set to be seen on the big screen on March 2, 2018 and June 29, 2018. Both are also unspecified.
On the other hand, Ridley Scott's "Prometheus" sequel, "Alien: Covenant," is yet getting another release date, from August 4 this year to May 19, 2017. "Prometheus" starring Noomi Rapace received polarizing reception especially from the fans of the original "Alien" starring Sigourney Weaver.
Matthew Vaughn's "Kingsman: The Golden Circle," the sequel for the 2015 sleeper hit starring Taron Egerton, was also moved off its supposed date of June 16, 2017, making four months to Oct. 6, 2017. The sequel will have Tatum, Julianne Moore, and Jeff Bridges to join the cast.
Other Marvel movies are on the release calendar for March 2, 2018 and June 29, 2018, both similarly unspecified. An untitled Marvel movie wall also pulled back from its October 6 release date.
