Yen Press Licensed ‘Sound! Euphonium’ English Novel Slated For Summer 2017
"Sound Euphonium" novel will be spreading its musical notes after being licensed by Yen Press. The novel is said to be marching its way to its release date scheduled summer 2017 as announced on Wednesday.
According to Crunchy Roll, "Sound Euphonium" novel's release date has been confirmed after a fan asked Yen Press on Twitter about the information. The anime news site also revealed that Yen Press is planning to release the novel in English.
On December 2013, Takarajimasha published the first "Sound! Euphonium" (Sound! Euphonium Welcome to Kitauji High School's Musical Instrument Club) novel by Ayana Takeda as part of its Japan Love Story Prize series.
The anime news site also reported that "Hibike! Euphonium 2" (The Kitauji High School Concert Band's Longest Summer) novel and "Hibike! Euphonium 2" (The Kitauji High School Concert Band's Worst Disaster) followed the original novel in March and April 2015. Another short story collection titled "Hibike! Euphonium 2" (The Kitauji High School Concert Band's Secret Story) also followed on June 2015.
Takeda also released a two-part novel spinoff titled "Rikka Kōkō Marching Band e Yōkoso!" (Welcome to the Rikka High School Marching Band), with the story focusing on a character named Azusa Sasaki and Rikka High School in August and September 2015 a report from Anime News Network shows.
The series, as cited on the anime news site's report, has inspired Kyoto Animation to create an anime adaptation in 2015. The anime adaptation is currently airing its second season, streamed by Crunchy Roll.
The storyline, based on the original movie, follows the Kitauji Music club which excels in national competitions but has not advanced past the Kansai tournament since their adviser was changed. The story shows each member's personal lives, conflicts over solos, and being torn between their passion and studies. The new club adviser helps each of them, and helps them excel.
Yen Press also announced on Wednesday that they licensed "Magical Girl Raising Projects" and the "Grimgar of Fantasy and Ash" manga which will also be released in summer 2017.
