The Outgoing President Barrack Obama Honors Ellen DeGeneres With Presidential Medal Of Freedom
The American comedian, Ellen DeGeneres was recently in the white house to receive the Presidential Medal of Freedom which is the highest civilian award that acknowledges those people who made contributions to the national interest, world peace, cultural and other private or public endeavors.
DeGeneres was one of the 2016 awardees which Mr. Barrack Obama called "particularly impressive class." It will be the last time that Obama will give the award since his eight years of service in the office will come to an end in January.
As we can recall it, DeGeneres has been a loyal supporter of the President Barrack Obama, and she even threw a fundraising event for the president's re-election last 2012.
DeGeneres, who is also an actress, writer, and producer nearly didn't make her way to the White House. The host posted a photo of her on Twitter with the caption that they haven't let her into the White House yet because she forgot her ID, and she added that she wasn't joking.
After waiting for the White House to let her in, she finally made it and pulled out the mannequin challenge impressively with some of the other guests and awardees such as Tom Hanks, Robert De Niro, Bill Gates, Diana Ross, Bruce Springteen and Vin Scully. The so-called mannequin challenge is a video that went viral on different social media sites where people on the video poses and remain frozen with music on the background.
Ellen DeGeneres then posted the video of the mannequin challenge on Twitter with the caption, "I'm in." In the video, you will see everyone is participating in the said challenge, and obviously, they had fun. Fans started sharing it into different social media sites and received a lot of appreciation. It was totally an awesome and unforgettable day for everyone.
