"If you don't get tested, I will punish you!" This slogan has been circulating the internet and all over Japan regarding the recent campaign of Sailor Moon anime franchise. Naoko Takeuchi, Sailor Moon creators have teamed up with the Ministry of Health in Japan, Labour and Welfare in promoting safe sex.

The main goal of the Sailor Moon Campaign Against Sexually Transmitted Disease is to prevent and protect women specifically teens and those in their early 30's. It was reported before that one of the most widespread STD diseases are syphilis, chlamydia, and HIV.

The said campaign by Sailor Moon helps to raise awareness towards young women about the intense increase of Sexually Transmitted Diseases. Furthermore, reported cases since 2011 reached an all-time high 3000 victims since October this year.

Sailor Moon creator Naoko Takeuchi and the Ministry of Health in Japan hopes to promote awareness and encourage young women to practice safe sex in order to avoid probable STD diseases according to Crunchyroll. Currently, the campaign is distributing 56,000 condom packs throughout the local government in Japan along with 5,000 posters and 156,000 flyers.

There is no report regarding this campaign to be introduced to other parts of the world. For the meantime, its focus is Japan, but since STD is a common disease, the possibility of it to be introduced to other parts of the world would be highly suggested. Also, since young women grew up knowing Sailor Moon as one brave woman, this project will more likely be a success.

Sailor Moon is a popular anime series created by Naoko Takeuchi and was based on the manga series, Sailor Moon Crystal. The story tells the journey of Sailor Moon in search of her fellow Sailor Guardians, and the Legendary Silver Crystal to defeat the forces of Queen Beryl.
