The three-generation "Gilmore Girls" Lorelai, Rory, and Emily in the revival are dealing with new realities - Rory is unemployed, Emily is a widow, and Lorelai is starting a new life with Luke. The once-confident and driven Rory is depicted to be an unemployed and uncertain, the once distant relationship between Emily and Lorelai is filled with love and understanding as they struggle to cope with Richard's death, and Lorelai, still a commitment-phobe, is questioning her happiness with Luke.

The "Winter" installment of "Gilmore Girls: A Year In The Life" starts with a tribute to Richard, and focuses on the mourning of Emily as she embarks on the new life as a widow, and how Richard's death affected the two younger "Gilmore Girls" lives The death is both real and fictional, and it serves as the center point of "Winter."
Most Changed Character
The character who made a pivotal change in "Gilmore Girls" is Rory, according to Bledel. Being an adult, the mother-daughter relationship of the two Gilmores will change a lot in the "Gilmore Girls" revival. Bledel adds that as Rory takes on a more mature role as she turns 32, their relationship will be affected. Though Lorelai and Rory may not see eye to eye all the time, the duo remains tightly knit, with their connection still as strong as ever.
