Best Alternatives To Nintendo Classic Mini NES; Are People Now Into Retro Games?
It was an overwhelming sales day for eBay last November 11, the day Nintendo Classic Mini Nes' was launched and everyone seems to be going after it up until now.
The retail website disclosed the run in their sales to Polygon and admitted that they sold a unit of Nintendo Classic Mini Nes every 18 seconds. Average sale price of the unit is at $230, a price that is way too high for a $60 console.
"eBay is the destination for hard-to-find consoles, from the rare and vintage variety, to hot trending options, like the Nintendo NES Classic Edition," Jay Hanson, eBay's North America Vice President for Merchandising, said.
Since the launch, it is now very hard to get a hold of the console unless fans live near Walmart. Walmart held back stocks of Nintendo NES Classic Edition. They dedicated a specific time and day to release and sell the console each week. Fans are left irritated of Nintendo's unpreparedness. They pointed out that the holiday season is just around the corner and the console might have been a very good present for loved ones.
Tech Times provided a list of other Retro gaming consoles which are good alternatives of Nintendo Classic Mini Nes. First on their list is the "Analogue Nt Mini". This mini console is compatible with over 2,000 Famicom and NES games. Add to that: it can even play games at 1,080p via HDMI. The downside of this console, though, is its price. It is sold at $449, way more expensive than PlayStation 4 Pro.
Gamers can also try the Retro Freak gaming console. This console is compatible with 12 classic gaming systems, including Genesis, NES, and SNES. What's more interesting about this is that gamers can save all their game collections in one SD Card. Priced at $179.99, it is also a whole lot cheaper than the "Analogue Nt Mini". Other gaming consoles included are the Raspberry Pi and Nintendo 3DS/Wii U Virtual Console.
