WWE Survivor Series: Why Goldberg's Win Against Brock Lesnar Was Best For Business Despite Negative Reactions from Critics

Bill Goldberg shocked the whole WWE Universe with his unbelievable win against Brock Lesnar last Sunday at WWE Survivor Series Pay-Per-View. The hellacious Pay-per-view ended with a jaw-dropping main event that truly shocked everyone.

In this blockbuster PPV, the 'Beast Incarnate' Brock Lesnar was everyone's pick to win. Sure, everybody was cheering for the returning icon, Goldberg, but almost everyone predicted Lesnar to be the one who'll come out victorious.

For weeks since the Fantasy Warfare Just Got Real announcement, fans have been cheering Goldberg's return, every arena roars the name of the first ever undefeated undisputed champion. However, deep inside, most fans knew that WWE will put Brock Lesnar over. What would the point of putting him on the cover of WWE: 2K17 be if he will be defeated in his first pay-per-view match after its release?

Fans have already accepted that Bill Goldberg was just there to make the match as big as it is, and to sell Brock Lesnar's conquering dominance. Fans have already accepted that after twelve long years of waiting for Goldberg to return, they'll be handed a devastating loss because this is Goldberg's first and last match in over a decade.

Oh, how wrong those predictions were. Once again, WWE Creatives have proved that they have more surprises in the bag than fans would expect. Goldberg pulled a win in no more than two minutes in this much-awaited match.

After two earth-shattering spears to Brock Lesnar, and a devastating jackhammer, the Beast Incarnate was defeated. Bill Goldberg is now 2-0 against Lesnar, and fans are already speculating that this could be a build-up for a great Wrestlemania feud between the two.

Despite the negative reactions saying that the match was over too quick, or that it shouldn't have been a main event for such a big pay-per-view, what happened was still best for business, and for both men

Fans might remember that Bill Goldberg injured himself on the last Monday Night Raw prior to the pay-per-view. He got injured in his confrontation with Brock while throwing a bunch of "security guards" over the ring. It is also best to point out that both men are over 40 years of age. Goldberg hasn't been in the squared circle for over twelve years, and Brock Lesnar seems to be out of shape - at least, he does not look as good as he did years ago.

A long match between the two could potentially result to slip-ups around the ring and botched wrestling moves that would only make the match less than perfect. It was good that the match was over quickly, as fans only saw the good stuff.

This result also had some fans worried that this could mean Brock Lesnar is leaving the billion-dollar company to return to UFC, once again. Some are also speculating that this could mean Bill Goldberg will be back to take the Beasts' place.

WWE have yet to confirm if Bill Goldberg will return as a part-time wrestler, or if Brock is hanging up his boots.
