'Gilmore Girls' Revival Premiere Night Reveals Scenes And Sentiments Of Lauren Graham And Alexis Bledel
After the successful seven-season run of "Gilmore Girls" in 2007, the much awaited revival of the TV series will now be aired on Netflix in just a few days. Their premiere night was held last Friday at Los Angeles, where the audience responded with a thunderous applause.
Fans cheered as they wait for the arrival of the stars Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel. Some even waited for hours just to be among the many firsts to watch the first installment of "Gilmore Girls: A Year In The Life".
In an interview with Vanity Fair, Graham said that when the series ended she always wanted to do more of it again, saying, "I love playing Lorelai. I always felt a kinship with this part...It's very uplifting and an energizing part to play. It's really one of the best-written roles."
The same excitement also filled Bledel about her role as Rory, Lorelai's daughter. Playing the role again is something she cannot refuse especially that she will be working again with series creator Amy Sherman-Palladino and husband writer-director Daniel Palladino, Vanity Fair reported.
For Bledel, she considers coming back as a "rare opportunity" and "surreal experience". Her character will still be the same hard working Rory, but a bit lost about what to do in life. She is proud of what they have accomplished, adding, "This was really Amy's vision, and the story she has created is something very real and honest, especially with my character."
Expect that there will still be witty moments with Lorelai and Rory as Graham said, "The biggest difference is all these people are grown-up. There's still a lot of jokes and light moments, but this time it has a greater depth. There are death and sadness and more love and emotion." In the first installment, someone's death will fire up the friction between Lorelai and her mother Emily. But what's in store for Lorelai and Luke's previously estranged relationship is something to look forward.
In another news by Indie Wire, some of the events to expect in the series revival are every side of Rory that's hated and loved, the new format in four 90-minute movies feeling like you're getting more of the show, the transition of the season will seem to be taking place within the same day, and many other characters that will be well-represented.
The wait is almost over as "Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life" airs on Nov. 25 exclusively on Netflix.
