Angels' Mike Trout Wins AL MVP 2016 For The Second Time; Cubs Kris Bryant Gets NL MVP; Series Highlights And More

The Los Angeles Angels might have lacked and stumbled to snatch the World Series title, Mike Trout soared once again as he won the American League (AL) MVP last Thursday. Chicago Cubs third baseman Kris Bryant was voted the National League (NL) MVP.

The voting was done in balloting by the Baseball Writers' Association of America. The voting was completed by the start of the playoffs.

While the Angels lacked some wings to fly and finished their run at the fourth place in the AL West, Trout was just too good to be ignored. Trout, the center fielder of the team, batted .315 with 29 homers, 100 RBIs and 30 steals.

He scored 17% of the Angel's runs. It's the highest percentage for any AL player since Rickey Henderson back in 1985 with the New York Yankees.

Trout was the unanimous winner back in 2014. Before that, he always placed second in three of the past four years. With this accomplishment, he is the first MVP from a losing team since Alex Rodriguez for Texas in 2003.

Trout described this as an "unbelievable feeling", saying that he is just trying to get better and better every year.

Meanwhile, it's another victory for the Cubs as Bryant got the votes for the NL MVP. The team had a great year for ending their World Series title drought for 107 long years and 71-year National League pennant drought.

Bryant hit .292 with 39 homers and 102 RBIs in his second year in the majors, swinging the Cubs to their first World Series title since 1908.

Cubs owner Tom Ricketts said that Bryant is an impressive young man in every aspect, as he is mature, professional, light-hearted, but serious at the same time. He described him as "a dream player for any organization."

He is the first NL MVP from the Cubs since Sammy Sosa in 1998 and seventh-overall.
