"Making a Murderer" has been renewed for Season 2 after the first season becoming a hit. Avery is set to file another appeal which is going to be the focus of the second season.
According to a report in Cheat Sheet, "Making a Murder" Season 2 will introduce the new lawyer of Steven Avery. In the first season, Dean Strang and Jerry Buting were the defense lawyers of Avery. The upcoming season will have Avery a new lawyer.
Kathleen Zellner is the new defense lawyer who will handle Avery's case in "Making a Murderer" Season 2. Zellner promises to make this case another overturn of conviction. She has a record of 17 overturned convictions in the past and is looking forward for this case to be added to the number.
Screen Rant reports that Brendan Dassey is going to be freed from jail. The court is currently making arrangements for Dassey's freedom and hopes that he joins his family during Thanksgiving. Dassey has been convicted of a murder that happened in 2005. There is going to be more details of the case in "Making a Murderer" Season 2.
Dassey is now 27 years of age. He was convicted together with his uncle Steven Avery of allegedly killing Teresa Halbach. He was 16 years old then. This time he is released from prison and there are certain conditions from the court while he is out. Dassey is not to go far from home. He is not allowed to have a passport, cannot travel and cannot contact any members of the Halbach family. He also is not allowed to get in touch with Steven Avery. The case of Dassey and Avery continues in "Making a Murderer" Season 2.
"Making a Murderer" Season 2 will explore more on the release of Dassey according to a report in Independent. The upcoming season will also show more evidence that has not been revealed in the first season.
The documentary series is set to continue on Netflix. As of this time, there is no specific air date for "Making a Murderer" Season 2.
