According to Business Insider, the real-life "Legend of Zelda" escape room experience will be visiting eight U.S. cities including San Francisco, Los Angeles, and San Diego in California. Also covered are Seattle, Phoenix, Houston, Chicago, and New York. San Francisco will serve as the launching pad on January 31.
The "Legenda of Zelda" escape room game will not be scary as many escape rooms. It will feature challenging puzzles and other brain teasers. Scrap Entertainment has been tapped to manage the event, with the blessing of Nintendo.
The mechanics of the game is explained on the website AV Club. Teams of six players will be involved in the "Legend of Zelda" escape room experience. They will use items from the Zelda games to solve puzzles. A time limit is implemented to retrieve the Triforce from Ganondorf.
The escape room event is part of Nintendo's promotional push for "The Legend of Zelda: Breadth of the Wild," which is the Japanese gaming company's latest game in the long-running franchise. Here's how Nintendo describes "Defenders of the Triforce" :
Instead of escaping from a locked room, participants work in teams of six to solve a mystery in a huge area, all within a set time limit. The experience will let guests interact with classic items and characters seen in "The Legend of Zelda" series like the Goron, Zora, and Kokiri tribes. Discovered items can be used to solve puzzles and move forward into other areas, just like in "The Legend of Zelda" games.
