‘Lucifer’ Season 2 Episode 8 Recap: Charlotte’s Cry For God’s Attention Resulted In Human Carnage

“Lucifer” Season 2 Episode 8 revolved around Lucifer Morningstar (Tom Ellis) desperately trying to recover Azrael’s blade as more people fell victim to its ominous power of compelling humans to kill others. Lucifer had buried the blade in his youngest brother’s grave, but discovered that the grave was exhumed, and the blade missing. In his journey of locating Azrael’s blade, Lucifer was made to confront his mother and his inexplicable affections for human beings.

According to Fansided, it all began when a woman was stabbed multiple times during broad daylight in “Lucifer” Season 2 Episode 8. As luck would have it, a tourist managed to take a photo of the crime. Although the identity of the murderer could not be determined from the photo, Lucifer recognized the weapon used as Azrael’s blade.

By following some clues, Lucifer arrived at a yoga studio that his mother, Charlotte (Tricia Helfer) frequented. It turned out that Charlotte had given a map to Uriel’s grave to 12 humans intending for a carnage to happen. She told Lucifer that she did it to try and get his father’s attention.

Further into “Lucifer” Season 2 Episode 8, Lucifer, Chloe Decker (Lauren German), Dan Espinoza (Kevin Alejandro), and Ella Lopez (Aimee Garcia) tracked a series of murders and finally encountered the blade. However, Dan got his hands on Azrael’s blade and attacked Lucifer, blaming him for his failed marriage and stolen pudding. Eventually, Lucifer managed to retrieve the blade from Dan, who had no memory of what had occurred, reports Celeb Dirty Laundry.

Even with so many people dead, Charlotte did not think that there were enough victims to acquire God’s attention. Lucifer bitterly assured her that human carnages had never gotten his father’s attention and this plan would never have succeeded anyway. Charlotte then tried to convince Lucifer to work with Amendiel and herself to contact God together. Lucifer refused because he felt that he was happy staying on Earth. As his anger towards his mother grew, Charlotte ultimately backed off when she saw Azrael’s blade started to smolder in Lucifer’s hand.

Further insights by TV Fanatic says that apart from finding Azrael’s blade, Lucifer had a few encounters with Dr. Linda Martin (Rachael Harris) in “Lucifer” Season 2 Episode 8. Initially, Linda called Lucifer in for a session intending to probe him about Hell and how he had tortured Hitler. As he learned of his therapist’s true intention, Lucifer ended his session early. However, after being questioned by his mother of his feelings towards humans, Lucifer returned to Linda to try and find an explanation for his emotions.

“Lucifer” Season 2 Episode 8 titled “Trip to Stabby Town” was aired on November 14, on FOX.
