‘Outlander’ Season 3 Updates: New Casts, Sam Heughan Talks About His Dating Life
“Outlander” Season 3 will be unlike both of its predecessor seasons with new major roles, casts and locations. “Outlander” Season 2 ended with Claire Randall (Caitriona Balfe) deciding to return to the love of her life, Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan), upon learning that he had survived the Battle of Culloden. She must travel through the stones again in Craigh na Dun to return to the time when Jamie still lives.
According to Hall Of Fame Magazine, as fans gear up for “Outlander” Season 3, many have been curious about the relationship between the lead actor and actress. While both of them established that they are nothing more than good friends, the handsome Heughan did not indicate that he is dating anyone at the moment. Being such a heartthrob that is known all over the world, it is hard to imagine anyone would reject his affections. However, Heughan admitted that he had been turned down by a girl while he was a teenager.
The Scottish hunk revealed that he had once tried to win the heart of a lucky girl by placing a bottle of wine, glasses and flowers on the doorstep of her house on Valentine’s Day. Sadly, the door never opened and he had left the wine and flowers on the doorstep. The next day, he received a call warning him to leave the girl alone and to stop stalking her. When asked if he thinks he is as manly as his character in “Outlander”, Heughan admits that he thinks Jamie is more masculine but he is more a man of this time period.
Reports by Inquisitr says that “Outlander” Season 3 cast will be even bigger than before. Scottish actor Conor McCarry will take the role of Young Jamie in this season. To clarify, Young Jamie is not Jamie Fraser but his nephew, Jamie Murray, the eldest son of Jenny Fraser (Laura Donnelly) and Ian Murray (Steven Cree).
“Outlander” Season 3 will be based on the third of the immensely popular “Outlander” book series by Diana Gabaldon titled “Voyager”. In the book, Young Jamie (Conor McCarry) and his brother, Young Ian (John Bell) will embark on an adventure which will have a significant impact on Young Ian’s life. The show’s executive producer, Ronald Moore, explained that there will be a long journey across the Atlantic, to Jamaica, then to the Caribbean, and finally in America.
There will be two additional key roles in “Outlander” Season 3: the Dunsany sisters, Geneva and Isobel, Deadline reports. Geneva, who will be played by Hannah James, is strikingly beautiful but spoiled and difficult. However, even with her harsh exterior, she seems to harbor a vulnerability underneath. Isobel on the other hand, who will be played by Tanya Reynolds, is plain looking but sweet and compassionate. Compared to her sister, she is much more well-liked and shows more empathy to the people around her.
“Outlander” Season 3 will air in 2017, on Starz.
