‘Justice League Dark’ News & Update: Watch The R-Rated Trailer Here; Plot, Casting & Release Date!

Warner Bros. Home Animation and DC Entertainment have just released the trailer for the animated DC Universe "Justice League Dark" which came as an exclusive preview on the entertainment media website IGN. The DC Universe Animated Original Movie will be available on Blu-ray, DVD, and Digital in early 2017.

The trailer for "Justice League Dark" shows the formation of a team of supernatural heroes including Swamp Thing, Zatanna, and Etrigan the Demon who were tapped by occult investigator John Constantine to save the world from supernatural forces. The movie has received an R-Rating, according to IGN due to its disturbing violent content.

"Justice League Dark" is an animated adaptation of a DC Comics tale and aims to be Warner Brother's second R-Rated feature following the release of the very successful "Batman: The Killing Joke." According to Comingsoon.net, actors tapped to lend their voice talents for the animated feature include Jason O'Mara as Batman, Matt Ryan as John, Camilla as Zatanna, Nicholas Turturro as Deadman, Ray Chase as Jason Blood/Etrigan, with Jerry O'Connell as Superman's Jerry O'Connell, and Rosario Dawson as Wonder Woman.

The trailer highlights the film's magical, mystical, and mayhem scenes. "Justice League Dark" also includes Batman who switches from being a superhero to a villain in the animated effort. He acts as a liaison between the competing supernatural forces and supernatural heroes. Also included as voice talents are Jeremy Davies as Ritchie; Enrico Colantoni playing Felix Faust; Alfred Molina as Destiny; and Roger R. Cross as Swamp Thing and John Stewart, a.k.a. Green Lantern.

"Justice League Dark's' production team includes Jay Oliva, director, J.M. DeMatteis and Ernie Altbacker, screenwriters, James Tucker, supervising producers, and Sam Register, Benjamin Melniker, and Michael Uslan, executive producers.

A live-action feature of "Justice League Dark" is also under development. As of this writing, director Doug Liman has signed up to helm the adaptation.
