‘Ocean’s Eight’ Movie News & Update: Matt Damon To Appear In A Cameo Role; Casting, Plot, Release Date HERE!
Oscar winner Matt Damon has confirmed that he will be part of the upcoming all-female heist comedy, "Ocean's Eight." This exciting news is shared by Damon at the premiere of his latest movie "Manchester By The Sea" at the Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills, California. Damon starred as the pickpocket Linus Caldwell in "Ocean's Eleven," "Ocean's Twelve," and "Ocean's Thirteen."
"I'm doing a little bit in "Ocean's Eight"," Matt Damon shared to Entertainment Online. He added, "I haven't read it yet, but the cast is phenomenal and I'm excited to see what those women do with it. It's going to be fun."
"Ocean's Eight" features an army of illustrious Hollywood A-listers including Oscar winners Cate Blanchett, Sandra Bullock, and Anne Hathaway. Singer Rihanna is also part of the cast as well as Dakota Fanning, Helena Bonham Carter, Mindy Kalling, and Sarah Paulson. Matt Damon describes the casting as star-studded that is going to kick ass.
According to Cinema Blend, "Ocean's Eight" is set in the same "cinematic universe" as the previous three "Ocean's" movies. The film is currently in production with New York City as one of the locations. The gossip line reveals that the New York City sequences will revolve around the annual Met Gala fashion event.
Matt Damon did not share whether he will reprise his "Ocean's" role of Linus or play another character. The "Jason Bourne" star has been a vocal supporter of the "Ocean's Eight" spinoff. His inclusion in the film did not surprise fans. There are rumors that Brad Pitt and George Clooney might also play other cameo roles.
"Ocean's Eight" is being directed by the "Hunger Games'" Gary Ross. It is targeted to be released on July 8, 2018.
