PlayStation 4 Pro's product details was recently leaked. This pushed Microsoft to improve their current handle and create a new member of its gaming console roster: Xbox Project Scorpio.

According to Windows Central, Playstation 4 Pro's Neo got leaked several times. This moved Microsoft and introduced Xbox Project Scorpio during the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) event back in July this year. Microsoft says that the newly-introduced gaming console, which will be released by next year, promised a 4K resolution for games which can reach the console's requirement of at least a 1080p resolution. The tech giant made this possible by utilizing their Universal Windows Platform (UWP) which can be acquired through their 4K Windows 10 Store.

Tech Radar also notes other important functions the Xbox Project Scorpio boasts, such as Virtual Reality capability. It is noted that the tech giant does not have their own VR Headset but the newly-introduced gaming console will be made compatible to existing VR devices in the market, such as HTC's Vive and the Oculus Rift.

Microsoft also proudly noted that Xbox Project Scorpio will be five times more powerful than the famous Xbox One. Which means, it is likely that Scorpio users will no longer experience game lags and animation disproportions. Microsoft promised that the unit can run visuals at 60 Hz.

Mike Ybarra from Microsoft also said that Xbox Project Scorpio will be made compatible with the other Xbox units in the market, from Xbox 360 backwards. This is one of the first attempts of Microsoft to jive with the recent technology innovations which were well-accepted by the public, such as the domination of VR device usage, 4K resolution update and HDR content. For now, Microsoft has not yet announced how Scorpio will cost and the exact date it will be released in 2017.
